Empowering Girls & Women, Shifting the Rural Paradigm
Newsletter: June, 2026
Dear Pardada Pardadi Family,
This month, we bring you the story of Rajeshwari Devi, a woman who walked into her first Self Help Group (SHG) meeting not knowing how to move forward in her life. Her journey is this month’s reminder of the importance of empowering underprivileged rural girls and women and transforming communities, a reminder of why we do what we do.
June was a month of champions! Our girls competed in various sports at the national and state levels. During the Pardada Pardadi Annual Awards Ceremony, 50 team members were honored for their long years of service.
On the ground, community development and health outreach efforts continue to impact and improve the lives of families across villages.
------ Story of the Month ------
Rajeshwari Devi's Journey- SHG President & Entrepreneur
Opportunities don’t just bring earnings or gains, but also learning, and Rajeshwari Devi is a prime example of that. Her husband’s INR 50,000 annual income helped the family get by, but wasn’t enough to get ahead. When she joined the Balaji Self Help Group in Daravar village in 2021, she walked in without a plan, unsure of her place.
But time is a great teacher, and Rajeshwari made sure to be a good student, absorbing the discipline of monthly savings, timely repayments, and the quiet confidence that comes from being heard.
