How Pardada Pardadi Educational Society collects, uses and protects the personal
information of our donors, supporters, volunteers, students and visitors.

1. Who we are
Pardada Pardadi Educational Society (“PPES”, “we”, “us”) is a registered non-profit society founded in 2000 that works to educate and empower girls and women in rural India. Our registered office is at C-98, Fourth Floor, Sector 2, Noida ,Uttar Pradesh- 201301, India. This policy applies to pardadapardadi.org, our donation pages, events, email and social media communications, and our programmes.
We act as the “Data Fiduciary” for your personal data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023,
and follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number and postal address when you donate, sponsor a student, sign up for updates, volunteer, apply for a job or contact us.
Donation and tax information: your PAN (for 80G tax receipts), and for donors outside India, details required under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, such as nationality and passport or address details.
Volunteer and job applicant information: CVs, identity documents and references needed to assess and onboard you.
Information collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and referral source, through cookies and analytics tools.
Programme information: for students and women in our programmes, details needed for enrolment, attendance, academic progress, welfare and scholarships (see section 4).
3. How we use your information
We use your information to process donations and issue receipts and 80G certificates; to meet our legal, tax, audit and FCRA reporting obligations; to send you updates on our work, campaigns and impact (with your consent); to manage volunteering, events and recruitment; to respond to your questions; and to improve our website.
You can withdraw consent for communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying STOP to SMS or WhatsApp messages, or by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing we are legally required to carry out, such as keeping donation records.
4. Students and minors
Most of our students are under 18. We collect their personal data only with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, and only for their education, safety and welfare. We do not track children’s behaviour or use their data for targeted advertising.
Access to student records is limited to authorised staff. Our website and donation pages are intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect personal data online from children.
5. Donations and payments
Online donations are processed by secure third-party payment gateways, Stripe and PayU. Your card, UPI and bank details are entered directly with them; PPES does not see or store your full card number.
For recurring gifts, we store only the information needed to manage your mandate, such as your donation amount, frequency and the gateway’s reference ID. You can change or cancel a monthly gift by contacting us.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with:
Service providers who help us run our work, such as payment gateways, email and SMS platforms, website
hosting and our CRM, under contracts that require them to protect it; auditors and tax advisors; government authorities, including the Income Tax Department and the Ministry of Home Affairs, where the law requires; and fundraising partner platforms, when you donate through them.
Some providers may store data outside India. When this happens, we make sure it is protected to the standard
required by Indian law.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to make the website and donation forms work, and analytics cookies, [e.g. Google Analytics], to understand how visitors use the site. If we use advertising or social media pixels, we ask for your consent first.
You can manage cookies through the cookie banner on our site or in your browser settings. Blocking essential
cookies may stop some features, like donation forms, from working.
8. Photos and stories
We share stories, photos and videos of our students and communities to show the impact of your support. We
do this only with written consent from the individual, or from a parent or guardian for minors. We avoid publishing information that could identify where a child lives. If you would like a photo or story removed from our website or social media, contact us and we will act promptly.
9. Storage and security
We protect your data with reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, password-protected systems and staff training. While no system is completely secure, we work to prevent unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the Data Protection Board of India as
required by law.
10. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. Donation and financial records are kept for the periods required under income tax and FCRA regulations. Marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.
11. Your rights
Under Indian data protection law, you have the right to: access a summary of the personal data we hold about you; correct, complete or update it; ask us to erase it, where we are not legally required to keep it; withdraw your consent at any time; nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and raise a grievance with us.
To make a request, contact our Grievance Officer (section 13). We will respond within [30] days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with its “Last updated” date. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email or a notice on our website.
