Pardada Pardadi Educational Society

About Us

Our Vision

To facilitate the creation of a socially and economically empowered model for rural development.

Why we exist

Uttar Pradesh is the most populous and the fourth largest state in India. While the national average female literacy rate stood at 64.63%, that of Uttar Pradesh is at 57.18%.

In rural India, where education is divided disproportionately between girls, Pardada Pardadi provides them with the opportunity and the resources required to challenge and change this reality. In Anupshahr, where over 6,000 families live under the poverty line, things were no different. Investing in girls’ education was considered a loss-making investment and early marriage was a commonplace.

“Our founder aimed to challenge and change this reality,

one girl, one family, one village at a time.”

Who We Are

Founded in 2000, Pardada Pardadi Educational Society is a grassroots non-profit based in Anupshahr, Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh. What began as a mission to educate girls has grown into a movement rooted in a simple yet powerful belief: when you empower a girl, you transform generations.

We work at the intersection of education, healthcare, and economic empowerment, creating opportunities for girls and women to live with dignity, independence, and confidence. Our approach goes beyond access—we are committed to driving generational transformation and lasting change.

At Pardada Pardadi, we are not just educating girls and women; we are shaping changemakers who carry forward the promise of a more equal and empowered society.

Our goal is not just to educate, but to enable. Not just to support, but to transform.

How it all began

What began with just 31 girls choosing to stay the course has today become a second home to over 4,000 girls.

A journey of belief, resilience, and growth, here’s how it unfolded:

Our Founder: Late Mr. Virendra ‘Sam’ Singh

After a distinguished global career with DuPont, where he served as Managing Director for South Asia, Virendra ‘Sam’ Singh made a life-changing decision. He chose to return to his roots, not to retire, but to rebuild.

Driven by a simple yet powerful belief that education is the most effective way to break cycles of poverty and inequality, he founded Pardada Pardadi Educational Society in 2000. He focused on those often overlooked: rural girls.

His vision was clear: To create a system where girls are not just educated, but empowered to become financially independent, confident decision-makers, and leaders in their communities. Though he passed away on July 22, 2024, his vision lives on in every girl whose life has been transformed, and in every community that continues to grow stronger because of it.
