From Rural Obscurity to Empowered Engineer

“I am incredibly grateful to PPES for transforming my life. From a small village with limited education, I was introduced to PPES, where I thrived academically and personally. The free education and support I received enabled me to inspire others in my village, and today I am a Senior Validation Engineer at UST. My education also allowed me to improve my family’s living conditions significantly. My father, once taunted for having daughters, now proudly calls himself the luckiest man alive. PPES has shown me and my community that with opportunity and support, amazing things can happen.”

Savita’s story is a testament to the transformative power of education and the unwavering support of the Pardada Pardadi Educational Society (PPES). Born into a family of modest means in a rural Indian village, Savita’s life took a pivotal turn when her uncle introduced her to PPES at the tender age of seven.

Despite the financial constraints and societal norms that often discourage girls’ education, Savita’s uncle recognized the immense potential PPES offered. With his persistence and the school’s commitment to providing free education, Savita could  enroll and thrive in the nurturing environment of PPES.

Savita’s passion for learning was ignited, and she quickly became a top student, excelling academically and earning the admiration of her peers and family. The school’s holistic approach, which included not only rigorous academics but also life skills and confidence-building, prepared Savita for the challenges ahead.

When tragedy struck with the passing of her mother during her final year of schooling, Savita faced immense personal anguish. However, the unwavering support of her PPES teachers and fellow students, coupled with her father’s and sister’s encouragement, helped her navigate this difficult period. Savita’s determination and resilience shone through, and she successfully completed her studies, securing a sponsored place at the prestigious NTTF in Bangalore to pursue her dream of studying IT.

Savita’s educational journey did not end there. As a Senior Validation Engineer at UST, she has continued to excel, leveraging the skills and confidence she gained at PPES. Her success, however, extends beyond her      achievements. Savita has been able to uplift her family, using her newfound resources to design and project-manage the construction of a spacious, three-bedroom house for her father – a remarkable feat for a young woman in her community.

Today, Savita and her sister have become role models in their village, inspiring others to dream big and pursue their aspirations. When Savita returns to her community, she is greeted with immense pride and admiration, as her story serves as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of PPES’s work.

Savita’s journey is a shining example of how access to quality education, along with unwavering support and encouragement, can empower girls and women to break free from the cycle of poverty and societal limitations. Her story is a beacon of hope, inspiring others to believe in the limitless potential of girls when given the opportunity to thrive.
